in the oath of office, from the US Constitution:

Before he enters on the Execution of his Office, he shall take the following Oath or Affirmation:--"I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the Office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my Ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States."

There has been no solemnity, just an opposite, clownishness. Faithfulness? Only to himself. Defend the Constitution? He has tirelessly worked to undermine it in ways unthinkable to past presidents.

In times of crisis he IS the nation's shipping clerk. Just tossing a few rolls of paper towels out to the peasants, or its rhetorical equivalent, does not get it done.
